Scandinavia The scandinavian Islands (Archipelagoes)  Hello Polina
The best way to explain what these regions are is ofcource to vissit them, The correct name would be the Nordic archipelagoes this since Finland is geographically not part of scandinavia. But we have chosen to encapsulate Finland into the scandinavian regeion for the simplicity of it all..

The archipelagoes consists of aproximatly 90,000 island varying in size from large islands where up to 25,000 pepole live, to tiny uninnhabitated islands. The scenery in these areas is stuning, the tranquillity is the first thing that strikes you as you come here. Fresh air and clean waters is also a signum for these regions. The wildlife is aparent, just as you step outside the hotel or cottage. These are maritime areas, most of the life here is dependant of what the Baltic sea gives.

Three countries with different yet similar culture.
To the west there is Sweden and the famous Stockholm archipelago, which reaches all the way into the captial of Sweden. This archipelago is the densest populated of the three regions and reaches all the way out to the Baltic sea. There are many summer homes here and the area has been highly exploited thru the years. The archipelago have a excelent network of transportation between the islands, and there are also many boat rentals here.

MariehamnÅland, the island in the middle.
Åland and it's archipelago are in the middle of the Baltic sea, closer to Sweden then to Finland this archipelago offers a amazing nature with a low population amongst the 10,000 islands you are sure to find a spot just for you and your family.

Åland has always been a country of sailors and ships. Therefor you can find many interesting naval related museums here. Fishing is also a large and important part of the Ålandic culture.
